Miss Ginger Snap // Facebook // Pinups Against Cancer

Age: 22

Occupation: Full-time Culinary Student

Where are you from: Bremerton, WA

Favorite photographer to work with: Desmona Lively Photography (www.facebook.com/Desmona-Lively-Photography), Rosewood Photography (www.rosewoodphotography.net)

Artist/Photographer/location of featured photo(s): The first two are from Rosewood Photography in Marysville, WA. The next two are from Desmona Lively Photography in Silverdale, WA. The final image is from Sevenseven Photography in Lacey, WA (www.sevensevenphotography.com). I have been so lucky to get to work with these amazingly talented people, and I hope this is just the beginning of our professional relationships.

How long have you been modeling/enjoying photography?: I just started this year, but I feel like it's been my whole life at this point.

Who are your favorite Pinup Models? Past or present inspiration?: I absolutely love Lucille Ball. Something about being funny and gorgeous at the same time is just so inspiring. I am also very inspired by modern pinups The Vintage Doll and Bianca Bombshell. They represent the wide spectrum of the pinup world.

What is some of your favorite clothing lines? Favorite Designers?: I adore Collectif clothing. They combine soft and pretty with funky in a way that is just perfect. Bettie Page Clothing is another one of my favorites. I love being able to find cute clothes that suit photoshoots as well as work.

If you could shoot with any photographer, past or present, who would it be?: The top of my list is actually a painter, not a photographer. I would have loved to model for Gil Elvgren. He was at the forefront of this artform, and I can't even imagine being on of the pioneers for women.

What is your favorite color and why?: My favorite color is green. I love it because it is so versatile. It can mean an entire movement to better the Earth, or be just a bright color to herald spring after the dreary hues of winter.

If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead who would it be?: It's down to two people. The first is alive, Alton Brown from Food Network. He, almost as much as my mother, inspired me to cook and attend school to make my passion my career. The second is unfortunately no longer with us, but I would have given my left foot for dinner with Julia Child. She would have had to cook, of course. The woman reinvented the way Americans cooked!

How did you get your model name?: My husband has been calling me Ginger since the day we started dating. It started as a way to make fun of me after that South Park episode, but quickly grew into a term of endearment. The "Snap" part of my name came from my love of baking. Ginger snaps are super yummy and one of my favorite cookies to make.
