Age: 34

Occupation: chef

Where are you from: North Carolina

Favorite photographer to work with: Lisa Johnson / Firelilly Creations

Artist/Photographer/location of featured photo(s) Firelilly Creations - Western NC Studio

Tell me about your featured photo(s). When were they taken? Why are they your
favorite?
This was my first shoot with Lisa. It was a group shoot for Drive In Magazine and had an amazing time that day hanging out with the other girls, sipping wine and hanging out between sets. Met some really great gals that I now call friends! We did these shots this summer at a home/ studio in the beautiful mountains of Western NC. Lisa has a great eye and is an editing genius. She gave me some awesome images from that day. I really loved the sets, they contribute so much to a good image.

How long have you been modeling/enjoying photography?
I'm fairly new to the game, just about a year in modeling, but a long time fan of rockabilly/retro culture.

Who are your favorite Pinup Models? Past or present inspiration?
There are so many beautiful women in modern pinup, it's hard to name just a few. I really appreciate the diversity and that is one of the reasons I enjoy being part of it. Perhaps we can break the myth for young girls that there is a certain plastic mold you must fit in to be considered beautiful. As far as past influences, of course Marilyn, Rita Hayworth, Mitzi Gaynor, Bettie Page, Cyd Charisse, and Jane Russell.
What is some of your favorite clothing lines? Favorite Designers?
Not much of a fashionista. I prefer shopping at vintage stores for authentic retro looks, although I have found a seamstress to can do amazing reproductions!
If you could shoot with any photographer, past or present, who would it be?
I would love to shoot with Roy Varga, he's amazing! I also really like Miss Missy, Dynamite Dames, Celeste Giuliano and Brandywine.

What is your favorite color and why? I love green, it's always been my favorite color and is very calming to me. For photography I'm becoming more partial to red, I love the way it catches the eye.

If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead who would it be?  Julia Child, she really paved the way for female chefs to be respected and taken seriously in our profession.

How did you get your model name? Lucky seemed appropriate as I feel very fortunate and blessed to be where I am in life. Laveaux is a nod to my love of New Orleans after the VooDoo Queen herself, Madame Marie Laveaux.
