Let's talk about achieving. There is nothing more satisfying than achieving a goal. Nothing.
I have also been a goal setter, list maker, type-A personality. For as long as I can remember I have been writing stuff down, simple because I like checking things off. A good day for me mean that at the end of it, my list is completely crossed off. I will admit, some days very little gets done. My goals are not met, and sometimes it upsets me. However, I know that I have another day to get those things done, and achieve what I set out to do the day before.
Some of my goals are personal lifestyle goals, some of my goals are "dream" goals, and some of the are as small as put on spf everyday. I don't think overloading yourself is ever a good idea, and that is hard for me to say, because I always overload myself, and others with things that need to be done, should be done, or just plain 'why have you not finished this yet' and that in itself is a goal of mine; to learn to say no, learn to moderate my goals.
Is there something big that you have achieved, or perhaps are on the brink of achieving? Do you set goals that are attainable, or goals that seem far fetched?
