Anna Kamps// Facebook //

Age: 25

Occupation: Right now, I'm a stay at home mom. I just finished my Bachelor's degree in Information Technology and was previously a soldier/mental health specialist in the Army.

Where are you from: I'm originally from Illinois. No, not anywhere near Chicago. I'm from a very small town surrounded by farm land. Yep, there is some country in me.

Favorite photographer to work with: My favorite is Erin Shephard from Lone Star Pin Up. She was the first I ever worked with and I feel most comfortable with her. She makes the whole process fun and easy while still producing some of the best quality photo's I've seen in the Pinup world.

Artist/Photographer/location of featured photo(s):
Credits to the photo's provided go to Erin Shephard of Lone Star Pin Up and Blood and Glitter Makeup (One of the BEST makeup artists and an awesome lady overall), except for the one of me as a mermaid. I did my hair and makeup for that session.

Tell me about your featured photo(s). When were they taken? Why are they your favorite? The first photo is of me at the Stepford Wives shoot. This was taken at the Lone Star Pin Up studio by Erin Shephard and MUAH by Blood and Glitter Makeup. I loved this set! It was so cute and made me hate my own kitchen : ) The second picture is me at the High Priestess shoot. This was also taken at the Lone Star Pin Up studio by Erin Shephard and MUAH by Blood and Glitter Makeup. With the costume and the MUAH, I really did feel like a goddess of some sort. I love how this close up turned out! The third picture is of me as a mermaid. This is a remake of a beautiful painting of Bettie Page by Olivia De Berardinis. The tail was custom made by Tiffany Hill of Sew She Said. It was so awkward getting into the tail, but what girl doesn't want to be a mermaid?! Dream come true : )

How long have you been modeling/enjoying photography? I've always enjoyed photography. I adored pin up models like Marilyn Monroe and Bettie Page. I never thought of myself as the modeling type, but about a year ago, I took some photos with Lone Star Pin Up and haven't looked back since. It is definitely my style and my love.

Who are your favorite Pinup Models? Past or present inspiration? Bettie Page is my absolute favorite. Not only is she gorgeous, but if you ever watch and videos of her, you can see how her personality just shines! She came from a rough life and became one of the most famous pinups in history. I've done so much research on her and have looked at so many photos of her. I feel like I know her almost and she is simply amazing. I also love Marilyn Monroe not only for her beauty, but for how misunderstood she was. I'm currently reading her biography and am forming a deep respect for how strong she was until the end. Some of my present inspirations include Masuimi Max, Bernie Dexter, and Mosh. They are gorgeous and aren't afraid to push boundaries. Of course, I cannot forget the beautiful Katty Rascal De Lux who's photos I just adore. Lovely!

What is some of your favorite clothing lines? Favorite Designers? I LOVE Unique Vintage, Bettie Page Clothing, and Pin Up Girl Clothing. The clothes fit so nicely and look amazing!

If you could shoot with any photographer, past or present, who would it be? To be honest, I'm happy with the photographer I use right now. Yeah, I'd love to be photographed by the likes of Bunny Yeager, but I don't want to just follow in the steps of other pinups. I want to carve my own path and I feel that Lone Star Pin Up is the best for me.

What is your favorite color and why? I think I look the best in red, but LOVE the color teal. It is such a calming color and isn't very common.

If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead who would it be? Oh, well this is just a tough question. I'd have a group dinner with Bettie Page, Abbie Hoffman, Joey Ramone, Jonathan Davis, Neil Peart, Janis Joplin, Marilyn Monroe, Tim Burton...and the list goes on and on. I'd just have to rent out an entire restaurant or have a barbecue because I could never just choose a few.

How did you get your model name? Like I said earlier, I really want to carve out my own path so my model name is my real name. My full name is Anna Alicia Kamps. The only nickname that really stuck with me through the years was Anna Banana and I don't think that is a good pinup name : )
