Tell me about your featured photo(s). When were they taken? Why are they your favorite?
My shoot with Roy Varga was done in Kansas City and it was my first pinup shoot ever. I was so excited to just meet Roy, not too mention actually shoot with him. It was amazing!
I love Christmas so much, so that's why I included this one. It was a lot of fun, and it was a great time shooting with Nikki.
I shot with Va Va Voom at VLV16. I love this photo because that Deadly Dames dress is my favorite article of clothing!
I started a non-profit organization in my community called the Sioux Empire Rock-a-Bettys. We have been putting together a calendar and some postcard photos, and the Mod Era photo was one done for that group. It's been a blast!
How long have you been modeling/enjoying photography? I decided to try modeling and pinup photography after I had my daughter about 2 years ago. I saw the Rocky Horror Picture Show when I was like 4, and from that moment on I knew I wanted to wear pearls, high heels, and lots of sparkles. My only regret is that I waited so long to encourage myself to do it.
Who are your favorite Pinup Models? Past or present inspiration? Of course Bettie Page, Elizabeth Taylor, and many others from the past are huge inspirations and all time favorites. However, there are a lot of gals from the present that rank pretty high as well. Natasha Estrada (aka La Cholita) is a huge inspiration to me. I admire her ability to embrace motherhood and her own career and life at the same time. And of course, I think she is just plain beautiful!!
What is some of your favorite clothing lines? Favorite Designers?
Pinup Girl Clothing was the brand that first inspired me to embrace my inner bombshell. I was blown away at the diversity of designs and sizes that they offered, and I love Laura Byrnes and Micheline Pitt's designs and prints. I'm also a big fan of Mode Merr, and for lingerie you can not beat Secrets in Lace.
If you could shoot with any photographer, past or present, who would it be? I really want to shoot with Viva Van Story someday. I love their work, and I'm always blown away by their style and edge. I would also love to work with Miss Missy Photography. I love her work, and I think that her photos really showcase the beauty of a woman.
What is your favorite color and why? Leopard Print. You can argue that's not a color, but in my world it is. End of discussion.
If you could have dinner with anyone, living or dead who would it be?
Divine. I'm a huge fan of John Waters and particularly Divine. If Divine is not available, then Elizabeth Taylor would be a fabulous substitute.
How did you get your model name? Roxy Bamm-Bamm just sort of came to be one day. Before I had even thought about pinup photography I decided that I needed an alter ego. I love the Flintstones a bunch, and I think Roxy just sounds sassy.
